Manager
I've been at Earlybirds since my son started school in 2001.

My background is in secondary education (I have a BA and Dip Ed, awarded by the University of Western Australia & Nedlands College of Advanced Education) and retail planning. As you can probably deduce from the educational background I spent my formative years in Australia before travelling to Japan and eventually returning to Britain. I still love to travel, having infected my own children with a desire to explore the cultures, environments & wonders of the world.

Having experienced preschool environments with my own children I realised the vital role of early years providers and wanted to become professionally involved, I subsequently completed an NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education, and was awarded EYPS in 2009 providing the opportunity to lead and improve practice.

I passionately believe in the vital role that early years play in the development of our children, forming the foundations for happy, secure and well balanced individuals. All of the children in our care are unique and to me one of biggest rewards of my role is the smile on a child's face at the end of the day.

Deputy Manager - SENCO Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Officer
I am a full time Supervisor at Earlybirds and have worked here since 2007. I have recently gained a First Class BA (Hons) Professional Practice (Early Years). Alongside my degree I worked towards gaining EYPS (Early Years Professional Status) which I achieved this summer 2013.

I enjoy working at Earlybirds as I love to see the children blossom in confidence and all areas of the EYFS through coming here. My interests are pretty typical - my family. I spend most of my spare time chauffeuring my three children around! I also love taking my dog for a walk or a run to relax at the end of a busy Earlybirds Day!

Deputy Manager - Tapestry and E-Safety Lead
I have an NNEB diploma, which I gained in 1994 and I have since worked in a variety of areas of childcare. I was a child minder from when I had my daughter in 2007 and loved every minute of it, but in 2014 I decided it was time for a change. I worked with Earlybirds as bank staff for a short period of time while child minding in my own home, but when a full time position became available at Earlybirds I knew it was time to take the leap. I look forward to working within a team that enjoy encouraging the children to develop through lots of play.

I am married with two children and we love walking our dogs, outside activities and family day outs. My daughter and I love going to musicals in the theatre and love the winter carnival season in Somerset.

I love being part of the Earlybirds team. We are like a family and take care of each other as well as the children in our care. Both of my children attended Earlybirds and they loved every minute of it. I'm a big fan of Formula One racing and I always have at least two knitting or crochet projects on the go!

Early Years Practitioner
Hi, I am Joy. I have been with Earlybirds since 2005. I trained on the NNEB course back in 1988. I am married and have 2 boys.

The children at Earlybirds know me as the 'horsey' lady ... as we share stories together and laugh a lot.

Earlybirds is a great place, friendly and inviting. That’s why I've been here so long. Please send us your children, as everyone matters to us.

I have been working as a part time assistant at Earlybirds since 1987. I find it very rewarding watching the children's progression throughout their time with us. Helping them to blossom into their own little personalities ready for school life and their future. I feel we work well as a team.

I am married with three grown up sons. My interests are hill walking and skiing with my husband and line-dancing and badminton with friends.
